The Viridis Pilot Pathway is a training programme designed to help aspiring pilots complete their training from Private Pilot Licence (PPL) to a frozen Airline Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL). The pathway is integrated with a trainee contract of employment, enabling candidates to work in ground positions within their current employer's company while completing their training. This model provides financial support and practical experience in the aviation industry.
The programme is open to candidates who are employed in the aviation industry or related sectors. Candidates can be new to piloting or have partially completed their training. The minimum requirements include being at least 18 years old, holding a valid passport, and possessing or being willing to obtain a Class 1 Medical Certificate.
The pathway includes various modules such as Hour Building, ATPL Theory, Night Rating, Multi Engine Piston Rating, Multi Engine Instrument Rating, Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL), Advanced Upset Prevention and Recovery Training (A-UPRT), and Airline Pilot Standard Multi-Crew Cooperation (APS MCC).
Yes, candidates can join the pathway at any stage of their pilot training. Whether they are starting from the PPL level or have already completed some modules, the programme will tailor the training plan to accommodate their current progress and ensure they achieve their frozen ATPL.
Training is funded through contributions made by their employer. These contributions are managed in a Training Wallet, which is used to cover the cost of the training modules.
